Samsung is about to launch a next generation Gear smartwatch in the market. News reported that the new smartwatch will be released soon. Reports also cited that the Gear smartwatch will come in multiple variants with high specifications and features.
Android Headlines said that the smartwatch will be called Gear A which has a codename of Project Orbis. The news added that the smartwatch will be powered by Tizen instead of Android Wear.
Gear A will come in 3 different variants such as model numbers SM-R720, SM-R730, and SM-R732, as noted by Android Headlines. The first model number will be called Orbis S1, the second model will be named Orbis S2, and the third model will be Orbis Classic. The news added that Gear A will come with different styles, colours, materials, and connectivity options. On the other hand, prices will vary depending on the smartwatch model.
Previous report also cited various specifications and features of the new smartwatch. Gear A will have a rotating bezel for navigation. The display will be 360 x 360 pixel resolution with Super AMOLED screen. It will also come with an Exynos 3472 chipset, and 768 MB of RAM. Along with the aforementioned, the gear will contain an internal storage of 4GB. Features shall also include other capabilities such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and battery of 250 mAh.
Likewise, Samsung would like to introduce new applications for the smartwatch such as mobile payments through Samsung pay and mobile connectivity with NFC and heart-rate monitor. Just like with the launching of other Samsung electronic products, August 13 will not be the unveiling day of the new smartwatch, according to SamMobile. They said in the report that Samsung has no definitive release of date yet since the company would like to ensure a perfect-manufactured gear for the users.
This is another technology that people can look forward into buying and wearing along with their smartphones.
