Plus-sized model Denise Bidot: “Why Victoria’s Secret needs a curvy angel”

By

Being the first plus-size woman for two straight-size brands during the New York Fashion week last year, model Denise Bidot is still hoping to soar higher by being the first Victoria's Secret curvy angel. The plus-sized model wants to represent women who are least represented in the modelling world.

Daily Mail Online reports, Denise Bidot, a 29-year old mother and plus-size model would want to see the first plus-size and curvy model confidently walking the runway for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show or better yet, she would want it to be the one to do it herself. Even newcomer Victoria's Secret angels Jac Jacaciak and Elsa Hosk welcome the idea. Bidot says it has been her dream job for a year now in order for women of all sizes to be represented in the said field which is mostly reigned by thin, slim and sexy women. Bidot also suggested that whoever becomes the first plus-sized woman to become a Victoria's Secret angel should be made to wear big wings for dramatic effect.

With Puerto Rican and Kuwaiti descent, Denise Bidot is currently based in Florida. According to Bodyrock, Bidot, a size 14 who grew up watching her weight, has been modelling for eight years now and does not care despite having stretch marks and cellulites. Recently, Bidot starred in a campaign for an online swimsuit retailer and was game even if her photos were not edited.

NY Mag adds, getting into the modelling business was not easy that after experiencing rejections, Bidot had to set aside her dream first. She was able to pursue her dream when an opportunity for women who love their bodies came.

Denise Bidot wants to inspire women of her size to learn how to be proud as well as accept and love their bodies, saying that there is no such thing as being perfect.
