Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the upcoming Blade Runner 2. An Oscar-nominated cinematographer is also on board to man the cameras for the film. Although Ford will reprise the main character in the previous film, reports have surfaced that he will appear in the upcoming film's third act.
According to Movie Hooker, fans can expect Harrison Ford in the upcoming film to reprise his role as the hunter Rick Deckard. Along with Ford, the report also cited The Place Beyond the Pines actor Ryan Gosling to star in the lead role, although his character has not been revealed yet.
According to the report by Vulture, the upcoming film will not see much of Deckard. Although the film's plot will reportedly center on the search to find Deckard, Ford's character will only appear in the third act of the film.
Denis Villeneuve will direct the sequel of the 1980s flick, with Oscar-nominated Roger Deakins as the cinematographer. According to MNR Daily, the upcoming film will be Villeneuve and Deakin's third collaboration after their previous works in the movies Prisoner, and Sicario.
Deakins' previous works also include "The Shawshank Redemption," "Skyfall," "Sid and Nancy," "The Hurricane," "A Beautiful Mind," "Dead Man Walking," "No Country for Old Men," "Fargo," "The Big Lebowski," and "Unbroken."
The upcoming film is also reported to take place 30 years or so after the events in the first film. The director reportedly said that the violence in the previous film "was approached in a very human way." And even added that it was presented in a mature manner.
