Luke Mitchell has been promoted to series regular in the upcoming season of "Agents of SHIELD." Mitchell, who plays Lincoln in the series, remains to be a mysterious character but will reportedly work with Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson, which might lead to a romantic affair.
Mitchell dishes some information about his character in the ABC superhero series during his interview with Comic Book Resources. The actor hints that Lincoln will still remain mysterious in the upcoming season and thinks that he could also be "dangerous" to Phil Coulson's Agent.
"I think he's in the gray area," Mitchell teased. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I think he's dangerous in the sense that they don't know whether they can trust him, and I don't think he knows what to trust. So I think it's rocky."
Despite the smoke shrouding his real intentions, Lincoln and Skye's chemistry was proven undeniable during season 2. Mitchell thinks that their chemistry will continue throughout "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 as per Latin Post's report. This means the two will more likely work together to really build their connection with each other.
During the last season, Lincoln became Skye's trusted Inhuman confidante, which perhaps is the reason Marvel Television and ABC decided to promote Mitchell to series regular.
"Luke proved a valuable addition to our cast in Season 2, and after seeing him light up the screen with his charisma we knew we had to have him back for more," Marvel Televison chief Jeph oeb said.
He added, "Our writers have come up with big plans for the character of Lincoln in our next season, and we can't wait for fans to see everything we have in store."
It is still uncertain if Lincoln is a character from Marvel comics or if he was created specifically for the series but Bustle wrote that eventually, he could become Phantom Rider or Hellfire in the succeeding seasons.
Lincoln and Daisy's chemistry will reportedly continue on the third season of "Agents of SHIELD." Is Lincoln going to be the next Ward in Skye's life? Find out when the series returns to ABC this September 29.
