"The Originals" always had flashbacks but for Season 3, it will be a major one as characters from the past will be returning. According to multiple reports, fan-favorites will be heading back to the show as Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, and Finn, Casper Zafer, will be featured in the show's upcoming episodes.
"The Originals" Season 3 will be bringing back these major characters and in a report by Cinema Blend, the details of their return have been revealed. According to the publication, Finn's story for this season will be much more complicated than his character before. Finn was killed because he had a love-hate relationship with their mother Esther. He was resurrected but he entered in a different bod but was drawn out from it.
In a report by TV Overmind, executive producer of the show Michael Narducci said that the flashback is something that people have never seen before. He shared, "We've always understood that the Mikaelson family, the brothers and sister, had to flee in the wake of Esther's death by Klaus' hands. Klaus blamed Mikael and said, 'We have to go. Our father is insane,' and for a very long time Mikael chased them." The EP shared that he feels it would be great to see the state of mind of the characters that is why they are bringing the fan favorites back.
As for Holt, it was reported by International Business Times that she was last seen in Season 2's finale episode "Ashes to Ashes" after being a series regular back in Season 1. She will be popping in and out of Season 3 as flashbacks are frequently used in the show. More spoilers for the show's season 3 plot details are to be released.
Are you excited to see Finn and Rebekah again? "The Originals" Season 3 will be premiering this October 8 at 9 P.M. on The CW.
