Vin Diesel's "The Last Witch Hunter" Already Working On A Sequel?

Vin Diesel is immortal in his latest film "The Last Witch Hunter." Starred and produced by Diesel, the movie is slated on October 23, but a sequel is already being offered by Universal.

"The Last Witch Hunter" is a supernatural action film starring Vin Diesel as an ageless warrior. He is tasked to save the planet from the most powerful witches who ever walked the Earth. It doesn't even hit theaters until October 23, but Universal wants him to commit and already block out the time to film the sequel. According to Diesel, "Axe and Cross" is the title of the sequel for "The Last Witch Hunter."

The actor's popularity went through a rough patch around the early days of "Riddick." He has since revived his fan base into a diehard following. His latest film, the seventh "Fast & Furious" movie was a box-office hit. Ranked the world's third best-paid actor (Robert Downey Jr. took the number one spot), he has made an estimated $47 million in 2015.

This financial comforts and stability have allowed him to pursue the projects of his own choosing, like this falls' upcoming "The Last Witch Hunter." Diesel said: "It feels good when you describe it as impressive. At some point when you reach that level of success you're able to do things like The Last Witch Hunter that are completely original."

"The Last Witch Hunter" features Diesel as Kaulder, an ancient witch hunter who slew the Queen of the Witches in medieval times. With her dying breath, the enchantress cursed him with immortality, so that he may never reunite with his loved ones in the afterlife. Having lived all the way up through modern times, he is the last of his kind. The witches are surging to unleash the Black Plague upon mankind.

"The Last Witch Hunter" is based on a script penned by "Priest" writer Cory Goodman.The film features a supporting cast that includes Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones' Ygritte), Elijah Wood and Michael Caine. It will hit the theaters on October 23, 2015.
