Jack Ma, the Chinese Internet billionaire whose fortune comes from the decade long development of China's largest e-commerce company, the Alibaba Group. It was no surprise then that on his last day as CEO of the conglomerate to become its chairman.
The celebration of the 10th anniversary of Alibaba's Taobao,com, the former English professor sang two Chinese songs, "I Love You, China" and "Friends" and was dessed in a silver coat with a black hat. The event was reported by the government owned Shanghai Daily.
Ma also did what many heads do not do, kneeling before the 35,000 employees, guests and friends. He also urged them to work for a better environment and for the company.
Alibaba was founded back in 1999, where 23% is owned by Yahoo and 33% by Softbank of Japan. Last March, it was announced that company man Lu Zhaoxi would become the next CEO of the company.
