EQT has entered into a contract to purchase 91% of IP-Only from its three biggest shareholders. Through the purchase, EQT will take the first move in its goal for growth and the merger of its Swedish fiber network clientele.
IP-Only Telecommunications is a supplier of high-powered fixed network line and datacenter services in Sweden. EQT saw the possibility in advancing the strength of IP-Only's market visibility and services offered by providing broad financial availability, adding the investment rate and tracking well-chosen add-on purchases. IP-Only is the owner and operator of a high-powered hard line network that is connecting the Nordic capitals Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm including Sweden's second and third biggest cities Malmoe and Gothenburg. It also owns Metro Area Networks (MAN) in Sweden, plus the biggest MAN IN Uppsala together with many other data centers that is sustaining cloud base and co-location services to business clients.
"IP-Only is an exciting company with a great business on its own, with potential to further improve its market position by consolidating and making further investments in the Swedish fiber market in line with the Swedish Government's target for 2020", according to Gunnar Asp, the Industrial Advisor of EQT and recommended Chairman of the Board of Directors of IP-Only.
