The iTunes Festival will return next month under its new name Apple Music Festival to kick off the launch of the brand's latest music venture. Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Florence + The Machine, and Disclosure are among the performers to play at the festivity.
The New York Daily News just reported that Apple announced on Tuesday that the headlining music artists will be performing at the 10- night festival at London's Roundhouse that begins September 19. The performances will be broadcasted live and will be made available on Apple Music. As such, additional materials will be accessible on the app's Beats 1 radio.
Apple's Eddy Cue in addition to the main artists have commented on the announcement, saying, "We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year." Apple's Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services also stated that the Apple Music Festival is composed of 10 greatest concert nights. These concert nights will be filled with some of the best performers of the world that will be playing live and interacting with their fans on Connect and Beats 1.
Meanwhile, some of the top performers expressed how thrilled they are to be a part of one of the biggest music festivals in the world. Pharrell took to Twitter and admitted how excited he is, "Excited to be back at The Roundhouse performing at the #applemusicfestival on September 26th". The hitmaker boy band One Direction also conveyed on their post that they're very eager to perform at the festival by stating, "The guys are excited to be headlining the #AppleMusicFestival in London on September 22nd!"
The festival has been recognized once again to promote Apple Music. The company's new service combining streaming, the Beats 1 internet radio service and Apple Music Connect will also feature as mentioned by The Guardian. Apple services gathered its biggest advancement earlier this month when it hosted the launching of Dr. Dre's Compton soundtrack album.
Apple enthusiasts expressed their desire to win free passes on the festivity. So Apple just recently declared that they will allow customers to apply to win tickets to attend the concert. Apple mentioned that it also partnering up with media partners such as the London Evening Standard to give away tickets for free. But for those fans who cannot attend the events, Apple will be streaming the concerts live through the new Music app on iOS devices, iTunes on Mac, and on the Apple TV.
