Less than two weeks before the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, PC users may not be pleased to know that there will not be a preload option on Steam. Meanwhile, a new trailer released brings an end to the 28-year-old mystery that has been around since the first Metal Gear title was launched.

This news is delivered by Metal Gear Community Manager Robert Allen Peeler in his Twitter where he said, "unfortunately PC Steam will not have a preload option, however players will be able to preload on console," as reported today by PC Gamer.

Preloading the game allows gamers to download games ahead of their release dates, for instance, when Grand Theft Auto V was released on April 14, the preloading on Steam had already started on April 7. This is said to be very useful to gamers with slow connections especially with the 28GB size, some gamers will just have to wait hours or even days to download the game.

Meanwhile, PlaystationLifestyle reports that a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain shows that the latest game will bring an end to the 28-year-old mystery that has been around since the first Metal Gear game was launched.

The 2-minute long trailer has showed few clips of past Metal Gear games in Japanese language, but with an option to turn on English subtitles. The video also shows a timeline as to how Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's story fits in with the rest of the franchise' titles.

The online multiplayer mode of the game, Metal Gear Online (MGO), will also return where it offers players a gaming experience in an online battlefield. MGO will launch on 6th Oct 2015 for consoles while MGO PC will launch on January 2016. MGO is developed by Kojima Productions' Studio which is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain for PC was originally announced for a release date of September 15, 2015. It has been moved to simultaneously match its launch on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles this coming September 1st.
