"Once Upon A Time" is already gearing up for its fifth season, dropping in a little over a month. Reports indicate that new folklore characters are making their way to the new season including Merida, who will join Belle on an adventure.
Fans of the hit ABC series always get excited whenever a new character joins the show for a season. This season 5, Merida, the female lead in the 2012 movie "Brave," will appear in the series. And to make things more exciting, executive producer Adam Horowitz told TVLine that the red-head archer is set to take the adventure of a lifetime with Belle, played by Emilie de Ravin.
TVLine also reported that Amy Manson, the actress who will portray the Disney heroine, "hits the bull's-eye" as per the cast's opinion at the recent San Diego Comic-Con.
Aside from Merida, the site also noted that Sir Lionel, King Arthur's knight who is also a member of his Round Table, might recur in the fifth season. Aside from being a good companion of the king, he is also a single father to his 13-year-old daughter, Violet.
Joining Merida and Sir Lionel in the list of new characters on "Once Upon A Time" are Merlin and Guinevere, according to Den of the Geek. British actor Elliot Knight stars as the wizard, who holds the key to eliminate the Darkness that took over Emma during last season's finale. Queen Guinevere on the other hand will be played by Portuguese actress Joana Metrass.
The upcoming season will be focusing on the mission to rescue Jennifer Morrison's Emma Swan from being the new Dark One. And since she will be busy in her new role, Lana Parrilla, who plays Regina in the series, says the Evil Queen could be the new hero in season 5.
"Once Upon A Time" season 5 will see new faces including Merida, the star of Disney's hit movie "Brave." These characters will appear in the new episodes of the fantasy series set to return on ABC this September.
