Elon Musk's Hyperloop starts construction in 2016; Oerlikon Leybold and Aecom joined in

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies had agreed to work with Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum and engineering design company, Aecom, to build Elon Musk's vision; the Hyperloop tube.

"I thought, traveling in a vacuum tube? This is something we should be involved in," Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum head of business development Carl Brockmeyer said in a report from Wired.

Hyperloop is a revolutionized tube train envisioned by Elon Musk which would transport passengers around the cities of America for over 700 miles an hour.

Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum and Aecom will exchange expertise in collaboration with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies for stock ownership along with the roster of SpaceX, NASA, Boeing and Airbus engineers who are working out with the project by now, cited on PR News Wire.

CNN Money informed that HTT has 400 expert engineers engaged in the project. Hodgetts & Fung architects had also signed up as partners.

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies CEO Dirk Ahlborn said investors had called him up to build the prototype. The Hyperloop will start construction by 2016. It will run 5 miles starting in Quay Valley, a community they will put up along Interstate 5. The team picked the location because it's a midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Brockmeyer said the Hyperloop requires only a little amount of energy. And they are planning to set up solar panels and wind turbines in Quay Valley to generate power.

Around August 2013, Elon Musk had published a proposal of a transportation capsule that could traverse hundreds of miles at supersonic speeds in a low air pressure. Musk seeks for companies who will implement the idea since he won't have time to develop the plan being Tesla Motors and SpaceX CEO.

Coincidentally, JumpStartFund took interest on it, creating the Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Inc. which composed of engineers who have day jobs, spending free time to work it out in turn of owning a part of the company's stocks in the future.

At this point, SpaceX is currently assembling a test area and calling students and engineers to come up with the design of the passenger vehicles.
