Emirates forges partnership with PSG

A new sponsorship deal was recently announced by recent French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Emirates Airlines.

The agreement would provide the Dubai based air carrier with a five year extension to their existing partnership with the French club until the end of the 2018/2019 season.

The announcement was made by Emirates Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales Worldwide Thierry Antinori and Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

In a statement, Antinori said, "This is the perfect time for Emirates to re-sign with Paris Saint-Germain given the club's new international players and on-going success in the French championship, as Ligue 1 champions, as well as the European championship."

He added, "Our sponsorship of Paris Saint-Germain is a strong platform to further extend our brand presence in France, as well as many other footbal focused nations that we fly to globally."

Emirates Airlines first signed its sponsorship agreement with the French club back in 2005 and was followed by a shirt sponsorship in the 2006/2007 season.
