UK's Oakfield Capital Partners Attains its First Close

The private equity firm that focuses its investment in small and medium sized businesses in the United Kingdom, Oakfield Capital Partners, related the first close of the United Kingdom Special Situations Fund securing GBP6 million firm in commitments.

The achieved commitment of Oakfield Capital Partners' United Kingdom Special Situation Fund will be invested into small and medium businesses that are requiring both executive and capital support to gain its viability. Oakfield's focus on these types of businesses whose feasibility has not been gained and may be eligible for tax reduction under the government-supported Enterprise Investment Scheme or EIS. The latest investors will be added to Oakfield's current group of investors who have been financially supporting the firm since its founding in 2008.

David Pitman's, Oakfield Capital Partner' Partner, commented regarding the first closing of the Fund, by saying, "We are delighted to have reached the first close of Oakfield's UK Special Situations Fund with commitments of GBP6 million. The current financial climate has proved to be a challenging fund raising environment for the private equity sector in general.
