Rise of the Tomb Raider fans and players who could spare $150 for the Collector's Edition, are in for some cool stuff and not just a copy of the game itself. Included in this premium bundle is the 12" statue of Lara Croft, reminiscent of the game's cover artwork. All the other items are encased in a wooden crate. This collector's edition will be available on November 10, the same day the game will be released.
Geek somehow shares the sentiments of fans who are thinking of shelling out $150 for a collector's edition of a video game. Geek said, "Asking someone to pay $150 for a game needs to be backed up with some serious swag in the box. Crystal Dynamics may have achieved that for Tomb Raider fans."
This special release of the game includes the following items:
- 1 Rise of the Tomb Raider disc Xbox One version,
- 1 collectible steel case, perhaps to store in the retail game inside
- 1 12″-tall statue of Lara Croft
- 1 replica of Lara's leather in-game journal,
- 1 model of Lara's Jade Necklace with the pendant that she found during the first game.
The entire set comes in a wooden crate, as seen in the game.
The Rise of the Tomb Raider Collector's Edition can be ordered now in the North American and European Square Enix stores and North American Tomb Raider shop. Win Beta said that there are no official announcements yet for a broader release; although comments by Square Enix staff in the on their official blog suggest that other retailers may also stock it but there is no official news to announce yet.
Another development, Crystal Dynamics might work on a sequel to Rise of the Tomb Raider. Square Enix CEO in the Americas and Europe Phil Rogers told GameSpot that the story arc that began with 2013's Tomb Raider reboot and continues with Rise of the Tomb Raider will be told across a trilogy.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will have its official release on November 10 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. For PC users and PS4 players, they have to wait until next year to play the game.
