SoftBank Corp. wants to name a security director to the board of Sprint Nextel once it becomes successful in its takeover bid.
In its filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on May 1, Sprint said that the new director would be responsible for supervising public safety concerns related to its wireless and wireline operations.
