Kylie Jenner and Tyga fined over wasting water; Couple faces possible termination of water supply in their separate homes

Despite the shortage of water in California, certain celebrities have been taking no notice of the rules implemented to help cause a severe drought. Kylie Jenner is one of the celebrities that has been issued a fine after failing to follow the rules. Alongside the 18 year old star was her 25 year old boyfriend, Tyga. Tyga has also been charged with a fine for not complying with the states policies. Other celebrities such as Dr. Dre, David Hasselhoff and Denise Richards have also been cited for wasting water and may be fined from $100 up to $500, or even have their water supply cut off.

In a report from Hollywood Life, the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District put a private special security firm in charge of patrolling the affected area on a 24/7 basis. Since June 1st water patrol officers have been inspecting the 65,000 person district that was affected by the shortage of water. During the first month the team found out 203 violations were being made; 5 belonged to famous celebrities.

Cosmopolitan also reported that 18 year old Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Tyga were the top couple cited for wasting water. Rules have it only 15 minutes worth of water can be used outside, twice a week. With the famous couple constantly updating their social media accounts with pool parties, enormous slides, and obvious unnecessary waste of water, the private hired water patrol team were soon on their case.

According to Eonline, first time offenders are fined with $100, the price then gets higher if the continuation of wasting water still occurs. The fine can reach up to $500 for the fourth warning, and possibly termination of services for those that reach the limit of five warnings.

Though certain celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Tyga can afford the fine fee, the possibility of having their water supply cut off is something out of their power. With serious shortage of water in California, all residents, famous or not are being made to keep to the policies in order to conserve as much water as possible. Despite Las Virgenes Municipal Water District general manager, David Pederson personally writing out to the celebrities to cooperate in the time of need, no response or action from the celebrities has been made.
