OnePlus One Cyanogen OS 12.1 Update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop cut short due to some major issues

After the OnePlus 2 has received the Oxygen OS 2.0.1 update, now the One plus One is reportedly getting the Cyanogen OS 12.1 update. An Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was said to include in this specific version.

The Informatique reports that the Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 has started rolling out to the OnePlus One users. The update will serve as an additional OTA (zip) for users with a former Cyanogen OS builds. It is said that the whole zip file for this update is 640MB in size and allows sideloading (direct download link in the source). The"critical security fixes address recently revealed vulnerabilities" will also come along with this update.

However, it seems that Cyanogen has observed some major issues after the Cyanogen OS 12.1 bringing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has been rolled out to the OnePlus One. The update said immediately stopped without worrying to issue as there was no any statement explained with regard to this company's decision to the eagerly anticipating OnePlus One users, Master Herald wrote.

To date, only 2% of the OnePlus One users have reportedly acquired the Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Nevertheless, reports claim that once issues have been already fixed by the developers, the release of the software will continue immediately, and will let users proceed with updating the OS of their OnePlus One units to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The site also says that Cyanogen OS 12.1 comes equipped with all that Google has included inside the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it also comes with additional Cyanogen-specific features.

Moreover, it is said that that the Cyanogen OS arrived with repairs regarding the Stagefright vulnerability as well. This feature is reportedly having so much significance since the Stagefright vulnerability will let saboteurs to take complete control over a person's Android handset.

According to Android Community, the update has a YOG4PAS1N0 build and it would require a roughly free 645MB of phone storage. The new OTA at only 304MB could be downloaded if the device has the latest Android 5.0. The installation process over-the-air (OTA) software update could reportedly be done in 20 minutes.

After all of these Cyanogen OS 12.1 issues for the OnePlus One, its unbeatable price point at $349 with high-end specs and 64GB of storage, is what made this to be an appealing smartphone.
