MTV Video Music Awards night is always a controversy every year. This year, it was Nicki Minaj giving Miley Cyrus a bad look while accepting an award on stage. The host of the night was in shock and wasn't able to say anything to what Nicki addressed to her.
Miley Cyrus was the host of last Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards. At that event, Nicki Minaj won a Best Hip-Hop Video Award early on in the ceremony. According to Entertainment News Online, as soon as she accepted the award, she called Miley out as not too kind when she got on stage. The host of the night was not able to respond to Nicki's comment of her. Although she was not able to say anything to get back to the con-singer's quirks, the MTV live stream cameras caught her reaction on air.
The audience wondered if the incident was in fact a spontaneous moment or it was a drama that the singers picked up. However, as discussed inside their production rooms, Nicki's reaction was definitely real, as reported by People. Apparently, Minaj was upset at Cyrus due to the host's comments of her during a past interview. Miley allegedly said that Minaj is not polite and somehow angry for not getting her VMA when her music video Anaconda had been passed over for the Video of the Year nomination.
Some artists present at the award show claimed that Minaj was not serious about what she said on stage. Although it was not staged at all, it was neither a true statement of dismay. Ryan Seacrest reports that back in July, Minaj reacted to her video not being nominated for video of the year due to the observation that black women are rarely rewarded for their success. Miley made a comment that she sounded bitter at the statements she vented out via Twitter.
Miley Cyrus has not yet made a comment of the incident between her and Nicki Minaj. The host however silently defended that her words were turned around by the media and was explained differently as she meant.
