HTC Vive Consumer Edition Release Update: The Era of Virtual Reality Begins

By

Tech reviewers express their excitement and astonishment towards the excellent performance of HTC Vive VR headset to some degree. It isn't limited to the gaming program. It appears that 2016 would be the heated battle for Steam VR devices. HTC Vive will ship the consumer edition in the late first quarter of the year, same time with the Oculus Rift. The Project Morpheus, Sony's Play Station 4 VR headsets are scheduled to release in stream market in the first half of the year.

It is truly impressive that HTC Vive had successfully created true sense of absorption in the virtual world. Something like virtual world is commonly engage for gaming console, but it offers any kind of entertainment that suits for general consumer.

If a user want to travel to the outer space, HTC vive will transport the user as if it literally perceive the galaxy, but behind of it were just a virtual world that comes from the computer screen and pulls off into user's home. The complexities of its physics are really outstanding. Everything that everyone could have only seen in scifi movies touches the reality through HTC Vive.

Steam VR was created and developed by Valve with the collaboration of HTC for manufacturing the hardware. There come the issues about the conflict of its official release though the orientation and introduction of HTC vive had been reported in the first quarter of this year.

The HTC vive developer edition is the first hardware shipments that are only limited to the developer community. Supposedly, the target date of consumer edition of HTC vive would be this year, getting ahead to conquer the VR generation over the Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift.

Valve and HTC had announced that their joint project's VR headset will be largely pushed to 2016 and might be delayed until the first quarter of 2016. They refuse to discuss the reason behind of the postponement.

Analysts say that the postponement wasn't entirely unpredicted. "I wouldn't say I was surprised," Liam Callahan said, the game industry analyst for the NDS group. "To me there's one or two potential reasons for this: One could be a manufacturing thing. They may need more time. But the other reason could be they're waiting for the content to be better defined." He added.
