Paramount's World War Z, a 2013 action thriller movie directed by Marc Foster, was a blockbuster box office that hit $540 million despite the rumor issues on extensive reshoots and reworking of the film's third act, according to a report in Den of Geek.
So much with the financial success of the project, the sequel for World War Z has buzzed up the news feeds recently following the revelation of the World War Z screenwriter, Steven Knight, that he is doing a script draft for the sequel.
Steven Knight told Collider on an interview that his official order when he took hold of the draft for the World War Z sequel was to "move this along."
"I was approached with the idea of, 'How do we move this along?' so who could resist?", Knight said.
He also recalls what his most interesting experience in the first film was.
"I think the beauty of the first film was the way that it never paused for breath. It never spent a moment thinking, 'Hang on a minute, we'd better tell the audience what this is all about.' It stayed in the moment, it stayed with that person," he said.
Knight also emphasized during his interview that that he came with an "empty slate" when he started working the sequel of the film. So, this may mean that the sequel is different from what is in the source novel written by Max Brooks and from the first movie. It seems that the sequel will be a lot different this time.
