'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' director Francis Lawrence tells fans and moviegoers to expect an all-out war in the nation of Panem in the film. This is in stark contrast to the first part of the Mockingjay phase of the trilogy, with psychological warfare dominating the film.
According to Movie News Guide, Lawrence has hinted on what the film will be like in comparison to Mockingjay Part 1: action-packed. He comments that the difference lies essentially in their themes. While 'Mockingjay - Part 1' heavily plays on the "manipulation of media and propaganda", Mockingjay Part 2 is "a real war movie." He further explains that the film involves the rest of Panem, especially the Capitol, will be the landscape of this film-not just District 13. The movie involves more of the action of the war, the destruction and the battles than mind games.
War movies are goal oriented, moving in one direction, with little to no digressions on its premise. In this manner, Mockingjay - Part 2 aims to bring the hugely successful franchise to a satisfying close without unnecessary antics or fanfare within the film. However, that is not to say that this will be a methodical, and all action, unemotional movie. Lawrence found the balance in doing both. The Ecumenical News reported his take on it: "What I tried to do was focus on the emotional consequences of violence, and not the blood, guts, carnage and shock value of it."
A fired up Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, ready more than ever to extract her vengeance and justice. Her role as the moving force of the Rebellion and the war, "leads up to an explosive conclusion" that complete changes all of Panem and especially Katniss' life, according to Movie Pilot.
Lawrence promises that the finale brings a conclusion that is both thrilling and moving. 'The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2' is the last part of the franchise that brought the The Hunger Games Trilogy Books to the big screen. The movie open on November 20, 2015.
