It appears that Rebecca Reynolds existed for the period of the 1800s. She also has a journal unfolding her life, and unveiling her relationship with a beast.
This season has been a constant struggle of hide and seek to protect the secret. The quest for Vincent and Cat is to prevent Liam's plot against them. Cartermatt detailed earlier that "Destined" certainly is a nice title for a wedding episode if one happens in the season finale.
