Sofia Vergara dressed up as Peggy Bundy for her on-screen "Modern Family" husband, Ed O'Neill. The actress, then, bashfully asked him what he thought of the retro makeover.
The 43-year-old lead star successfully went back from the past for her co-star Ed O'Neill on her Instagram account. The "Modern Family" actress dressed up as the familiar character from O'Neill's sitcom past, Peggy Bundy. "Do you like this look Ed Oneal?," the actress captioned the teasing snapshot on Wednesday. She was wearing an extravagant makeup and an over the top red wig as she gave her on-screen husband a hilarious message.
Peggy as mentioned by Entertainment Weekly, was played by Katey Sagal. Her character was noted to be married to O'Neill's Al Bundy on "Married with Children". The famous FOX sitcom, which followed the disfunctional "Bundy" family, aired between 1987-1997. While O'Neill's role is known for being a grump, his wife Peg was well-known for her extravagant hairdo and daring fashion. "Married with Children" ran for 11 seasons before ending in 1997. The show's cast, which also included Christina Applegate and David Faustino, reunited in September 2014 for Sagal's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Vergara who currently plays the actor's wife, Gloria, on "Modern Family" already came together with Sagal. The two was noted to have attended O'Neill's Walk of Fame ceremony in 2011, as reported by the NY Daily News. The 69-year-old actor played Al Bundy for 10 years and was honored with a star directly in front of a DSW store on Hollywood Boulevard. To commemorate the event, the Emmy-nominated actor's on- screen wives were present at the celebration.
Vergara doesn't seem to bring up if she has something more planned with the Peggy costume. And now that the actress channeled her inner Peg Bundy, many of the viewers think Joe Manganiello might like her new 'do. Meanwhile, the actress and the "True Blood" heartthrob are set to wed in November.
