The Croods 2 actress Emma Stone returns for her second Woody Allen movie, Irrational Man, sparking rumors. However, the Hollywood A-lister flatly denies any truth on the suspicion that she is the director's new muse.
In an interview with The Guardian, the American actress says that Woody Allen himself wouldn't agree with the "muse idea." She further clarifies by saying it just happened that he had two movies in a row where the director thought she fit the bill. While others speculate that she joins the list of actresses that are hise muses, she ends the issue by mentioning that the director is "working with other people now."
Currently, Stone's only franchise movie in the works is The Croods 2, (with the Amazing Spiderman franchise rebooting and recasting). According to Den of Geek, there are 145 movie sequels under production. Hailed as "one of DreamWorks Animations' biggest recent successes", the sequel of this animated film is also Stone's only animation film, slated to be released on December 22, 2017.
In between the two The Croods movies, the 26-year-old actress did a range of characters: the highly popular Gwen Stacy of Spiderman, Sophie Baker from her first Woody Allen film Magic in the Moonlight, her critically-acclaimed Sam Thomson in Birdman, her controversial Allison Ng in Aloha and Jill Pollard in latest film with Allen, Irrational Man.
According to Inside Halton, Stone was speaking about the controversy of her role in Aloha and the backlash it received. Stone admitted it educated her how "prevalent whitewashing" is in Hollywood. Allison, her character, is part-Chinese and part-Hawaiian pilot.
On the other hand, The Croods 2 is still in pre-production. While her character Eep is waiting in the wings, Emma Stone has a variety of roles in her line-up. Currently, she filming La La Land, which will be released in 2016, which is not a Woody Allen movie.
