Andrew Garfield believes that he failed being a Spider Man. In a recent interview, the actor have shared some of his felt shortcomings about the character for the two movie installment of The Amazing Spider Man. In lieu, the actor has high hopes for the film's upcoming venture and the new actor to portray the Spider Man hero.
Cinemablend shared the roundtable interview of 99 Homes which Andrew Garfield is also a part of where the actor elaborated his Spider-Man experience and how he thinks he failed. He then confessed that, he wasn't able to totally align with his capacities and to fully indulge with the said character. The actor felt that he never done enough for the 2 installments of The Amazing Spider Man even if he stayed up all night and study the role.
Moreover, he also explained that he wasn't able to put more soul and life on the character as it supposed to and thus it was difficult to do this kind of touch - with any film, he added. Andrew Garfield shared that the said Spider-Man character meant so much for him as it was with other people. In this regard, he knows the importance of his Peter Parker character and giving life to it was one of the most important things an actor must do.
Andrew Garfield thinks that he never made Spider-Man movie as soulful as it should, Comic Book Resources reported. The actor thought that he was never enough to give life and body to the character and thus something is lacking in one way or another.
Now that the Spider Man is already part of the Marvel's Avengers universe, a higher expectation is to be set with brand new roles and portrayals to be conducted. Sony, on this matter, elaborated how it was wrong by Andrew Garfield and some other part of the movie production, Softpedia explained.
Andrew Garfield thinks that maybe it has been disappointing, but then, he was able to confess and admit some of the shortcomings he thought of. But there's always a bright side - now that Spider-Man joined a production group, it is set to be seen as a newly-renovated one.
