Clash of Clans from game developer Supercell proves to be a phenomenal mobile game hit and marks a new success milestone in just three years. Now, it is named as the number one among the most downloaded and top revenue grossing mobile games of all time beating the massively popular Candy Crush Saga.
Mobile data research firm App Annie has been keeping records of the most downloaded and top-grossing iOS apps in the past five years and based on its latest survey report, Clash of Clans garnered the highest-grossing App Store game to date.
Despite that Supercell's trophy mobile video game is a free download, it is reportedly raking in an average of $1.56 Million every day with gamers' purchases of game's items to progress within COC's digital universe since its debut back in June 2012, Inqusitor reports. Apparently, it has constantly put its tough competitors, Game of War and Candy Crush Saga behind.
According to Venture Beat, combining all the revenues of the three games created by Finnish developer Supercell, it made a total of $1.7 billion in 2014 which is gigantic leap from the $570 million from the year before.The other two games from the company to join to the top 10 list are Hay Day and Boom Beach.
Via its official website, Supercell has issued an official statement to reiterate its company mission and commit to continually bring improvement to the game.
"Clash of Clans as been constantly evolving to offer more user-friendly, consistent and fun online experiences for Supercell gamers. There have been countless updates since the game launched in 2012."
In an earlier news, the game developer has confirmed details on its first ever ClashCon 2015 where some surprise treats and freebies await the gamers who will be joining the one-day event on October 24.
ClashCon 2015 will be held at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki, Finland, on October 24, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. plus lots of loot, food, and drinks. On its ClashCon website, Supercell revealed earlier that fans can expect an epic clan war tournament, attack strategy workshop, a 5-on-5 clan war, a goblin horde single player challenge. There will also be panel discussions on the art of war and land-vs-air attack strategies .
It also hinted in the announcement that free special COC t-shirts will be distributed to attendees at the event. The tickets for the the first ever Clash of Clans convention is priced aound €99 EUR a piece. Fans can visit ClashCon ticket page for more information on how to purchase.
