Actor Tom Holland just recently posted a new photo hinting his Marvel fans that he really wanted the role since he was still a child. On the other hand, reports claimed that Marvel felt sorry for Andrew Garfield's departure from the franchise, thinking "The Impossible" actor is more fitting to portray "Spider-Man".
After showing off his Spider-Man skills in Instagram, the actor posted an image suggesting that the Marvel superhero has already been a part of his childhood years. His photo was captioned, "A trip down memory lane... Thanks mum for keeping this."
According to Cinema Blend, Tom Holland was chosen as Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Peter Parker/Spider-Man in June. It was after that point that he then made his way to the set of "Captain America: Civil War", the movie that he is set to make his first appearance as the web-slinging superhero.
Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield's performance received praises for the "The Amazing Spider-Man". But the sequel, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" received poor movie reviews, possibly prompting the studio to look for another actor.
Marvel might be excited with Holland's first appearance as Peter Parker, but they are also reportedly sorry for his predecessor. In a report by Movie Pilot, Garfield got very emotional talking about his previous role.
The former "Spider-Man" stated, "I didn't actually make it. I was never Spider Man. I was the actor that I am. The person that I am. Struggling with trying to match up with something that I'd elevated so high in my mind. Elevated beyond what I could attain, what I could achieve."
He also expressed that as his character, Peter Parker, never felt enough, he also felt that he could not do enough for the role. Garfield then continued by stating that he couldn't really rescue the films even if he wouldn't sleep. He also stressed out that it meant so much to him to play the role of Spiderman.
Until the new Marvel movie starts filming and be more upfront with how they will approach the audience with the new "Spider-Man", fans are just left to debate about the changes. In fact, a lot of Marvel fans were reacting on the new version of the superhero, some of them were thrilled while others just can't seem to move on from Andrew Garfield's portrayal of the role.
