More photos of the long-rumored Android-powered Nokia C1 smartphone were leaked online. As of the moment, no confirmation or official announcements about this new innovation have been made by Nokia yet. The company has been very tight-lipped about the matter.
Nokia is planning to design and license a new smartphone to be released next year. Rumor has it that this new smartphone Nokia is talking about is the Nokia C1, which will be the first Nokia Android-powered handset. Based on the leaked photos, C1 appears to be much like the Nokia N1 tablet with 5-inch capacitive touch screen display that supports HD (1080p) resolution. Also it will allegedly run an Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system on an Intel Atom chipset with 2 GB of RAM.
Moreover, the on-screen navigation buttons, which are a characteristic of Android are present. It will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording. The front or 'selfie' camera will have 5 megapixels.
For many months now, the speculations about Nokia's comeback to smartphone space have been circulating around the Internet. Last year, Nokia has released Nokia N1 Android tablet in China, but never launched globally. Thus, this all-metal slate device has earned good response.
Nokia C1 looks flattering as though most manufacturers are creating minimal and simple devices with more appealing feel and appearance. However, there are still a lot of changes and improvements that will happen as time goes by. Definitely, this won't be the final look of the Nokia C1 yet. More things are to be expected from this promising Android-running handset from Nokia.
To all Nokia spectators, this might be the return of a once highly-regarded tech company. Nokia C1 could possibly give a new light to the company as it tries to showcase a sleek and powerful device with favorable screen-to-body size ratio and on-screen navigation buttons that runs an Android OS.
