Maria Sharapova backs out from the US Open due to right leg injury

Tennis muse and superstar, Maria Sharapova, is backing out of the US Open. The world-renowned athlete will not able to play due to her right leg strain. The said injury kept Maria Sharapova from being one hundred percent hence the withdrawal from the US Open.

Bleacher Report shared Maria Sharapova's statement posted on her official Facebook account. The superstar athlete expressed her own disappointment for she will not be able to play on the said competition. She also exclaimed that she did every possible thing to get herself in condition for the tournament. Maria Sharapova has also expressed gratitude for her fans and promised that she will be back in Asian swing in weeks' time and looking forward to finish the year 2015 healthy, strong and injury-free.

This is the second time that Maria Sharapova would not be playing for the US Open. The right leg injury is the major thing that the tennis superstar is currently facing. CBS report featured that Maria Sharapova has not competed yet after her loss against Serena Williams at the Wimbledon 2015; for after which she got her injury. Her right leg strain has also kept her from competing in the Roger Cup in Toronto, Canada.

Maria Sharapova has enduring her injury for many months now but still trains - in a lighter matter - to recover little by little. The 2006 US Open Champion is saddened by her own announcement. India Sports also shared Maria Sharapova's sentiment posted on her social media account, Facebook. She expressed that her recovery could not make it on time for the tournament and it will take longer that she was expected.

The five-time Grand Slam winner and the number three overall players in the world is on her to recovery. Maria Sharapova said that she will do everything to be back in shape and looking forward to competing again not just in the US Open but in other tennis tournaments as well.
