Many fans and moviegoers have been waiting for news regarding the Ghostbusters movie in production right now. Finally, the reboot is set to release its very first trailer by the end of the year. The movie is also set for global toy release and other new merchandise. In line with this, publication of "Tobin's Spirit Guide" is set to preface the movie premiere in 2016.
As reported by Flickering Myth, director Paul Feig confirmed that the trailer will be out by the "end of the year. The first look of the Ghostbusters reboot had been through photos and leaks, like that of Chris Hemsworth motor biking shot on set. In a couple of months, though no exact date was given, the first trailer will be going viral.
Along with this, Toys News Online reported that Mattel is officially the master toy partner of the movie. Rocket Licensing is in-charge of the film's UK and Ireland licensing campaign, with the aim of providing "the highest levels of awareness and anticipation"
Rocket has already started targeting different kinds of merchandise for its first phase, which include "publishing, apparel, nightwear, underwear, social stationery, stationery, confectionery, gifts and homeware."
With publishing on the list, CNET or CBS Interactive, announced the publication of the fictional "Tobin's Spirit Guide". Fans would be familiar with the said book, which was referenc ed in the 1984 Ghostbusters movies and the Ghostbusters animated series.
Published by Insight Editions, "Tobin's Spirit Guide" is the catalog for all manners of creature, ghosts and supernatural in Ghostbusters universe. The author and illustrator, Erik Burnham and Kyle Hotz respectively, have previously worked in Ghostbusters graphic novels.
The Ghostbusters reboot movie is set for release on 15 July 2016, while the "Tobin's Spirit Guide" book will preface it on 31 May 2016. Toys and other kinds of merchandise may be released earlier, possibly little after the release of the first trailer of the movie by the end of the year. The film cast include Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, as the female Ghostbusters and Chris Hemsworth as their receptionist.
