Apple revealed last June its iOS 9 upgrade for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 9 is going to be the latest mobile operating system that runs on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad series.
Apple - iOS 9 will support Force Touch to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. It will also be coming with redesigned keyboard and more granular control in iMessage over read receipts. iOS 9 will bring a makeover for Siri, and add-up transit data for Apple Maps to maintain freshness of its aesthetic. Moreover, it will also have a new font installed for the entire system.
In the past few months, iOS 9 has been available as a public beta. Now, Apple will start releasing iOS 9 to the public this Wednesday, September 16. Starting today, any device that is compatible with the latest iOS can download and install it.
If the user's device is capable of running iOS 8, it'll probably run iOS 9, CNET reports. It also outlined important things that users should prepare before installing iOS 9.
The iPhones 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 plus, 6S, and 6S plus are compatible with iOS 9. While on iPads and iPods, the upcoming iOS is compatible with iPad Mini 2, 3, 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad 2, iPad 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, iPod Touch 5th Gen, and 6th Gen.
Starting from the device compatibility and routine maintenance, users should take note of doing device check-up before installing iOS 9. According to CNET's advise, now is the good time on taking an inventory to the device, uninstalling some unused apps, and removing old files that are space consuming.
