Jessica Alba recently launched a new beauty line despite an ongoing lawsuit against her beauty and cosmetics company, Honest Company. It was in the heat earlier this month due to a lawsuit that claims the products are ineffective, recently found themselves being slammed with a second lawsuit with the same complaints.
According to People, Jessica Alba's line of all natural products has been the subject of two lawsuits this month. An earlier complaint was filed against the actress and her team after a consumer claimed that the products were full of 'unnatural' and 'synthetic' ingredients.
Just like the first lawsuit being filed against the Honesty Company, user Michael Shane also complained that the product he purchased was ineffective; leading him to take legal action. According to the complainant, after purchasing sunscreen from the company and applying it as instructed, he was left with severe sunburn which resulted to blistering and peeling.
Despite the lawsuits Jessica Alba and her company are facing, Today reported that it didn't stop the 34-year-old actress from promoting her new beauty on "Good Morning America" last Thursday. During the launch for her new beauty line, Jessica found herself faced with various questions regarding the recent lawsuits filed; despite the criticisms the actress has had, the mother of two calmly defended her products.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Jessica Alba stated that the complaints filed against Honesty Companywere "baseless and without merit." The beautiful brunette continued with "I created The Honest Company to give people access to safe and effective products and we are committed at The Honest Company to make sure that we use the safest and most effective ingredients." Jessica also added, "We're also committed to continue to educate our customers on how best to use our products."
It has yet been confirmed what the current status of the two different lawsuits are. Though it has been confirmed that two different customers and users of the product have filed complaints against the company, other reports state that many more angry purchasers of the "ineffective" sunscreen are stepping forward. However, despite the possible charges and fines the actress may face, Jessica Alba is standing strong as she defends her company and introduces her latest addition to Honesty Company.
