Without official announcements yet, a lot of rumors are already circulating on the Internet about the Xiaomi Mi 5 these days, which includes its release date on September 24th. Xiaomi, a privately-owned Chinese electronics company, has not confirmed anything yet about the unofficial smartphone. However, rumor has it that Xiaomi Mi 5 may feature a fingerprint scanner and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
According to TechTimes, a Weibo user, KJuma, has leaked an image of the new Xiaomi Mi 5 that shows the back part of the smartphone. The image suggests that Xiaomi Mi 5 has a curved glass design for the back panel, similar to what the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has. Also, there might be two models of the device, a smaller one with a 5.2-inch screen 2560 by 1440 pixels Quad HD resolution display and a phablet with 5.7-inch screen.
The rumored specifications of Xiaomi Mi 5 also include a 4GB of RAM, an eye-catching metal frame with a Type-C USB port, two loudspeakers cut outs, 16-megapixel rear camera sensor, and a 5-megapixel front shooter. A 32GB and 64GB of internal memory storage are also expected in this handset.
Moreover, the latest Xiaomi smartphone might have a battery of 3080 mAh and will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with MIUI6 6.0 on top of it. It will be priced at around $399 as well.
All the things mentioned above are not yet proven as Xiaomi has been tight-lipped about the matter. It has been a year since Xiaomi Mi 5's predecessor was released. Thus, it is worth noting that the new Xiaomi smartphone will most likely to be launched in the coming days.
Whether the speculations about this handset are true or otherwise, still it will give this Chinese company something to be proud of once again. Xiaomi users and speculators might have to wait for the official announcement of the company and see for themselves if these rumors are accurate about Xiaomi Mi 5.
