Want more of the "Jeepers Creepers" horror franchise? Well, worry not; it's back for the third time.
According to Variety, Jeepers Creepers 3 is in the development stage with production expected to be launched in Vancouver early next year. Myriad Pictures will reportedly finance the film while it is launching international sales at the Toronto Film Festival.
A.V. Club reported that the whole gang is back with Victor Salva who directed the first two films as well as Coppola's American Zoetrope which is set to produce once more. the Creeper himself, Jonathan Breck. In addition, the Creeper himself, Jonathan Breck, will be back along with Brandon Smith, who played the skeptical sheriff during the first film.
The original "Jeepers Creepers" was released in 2001 and was followed by "Jeepers Creepers 2" in 2003. Both movies centered on "the Creeper", an ancient creature known to hunt for 23 days every 23 years looking for human body parts and organs.
The said films grossed a combination of $120 million at the worldwide box office.
With "Jeepers Creepers 3," director Victor Salva and the original creative team behind the first two films will reunite.
In another related news, Screen Rant reported that the new franchise's production is scheduled to begin in Vancouver early 2016 and returning to co-produce the said film are Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope and Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures, both of which have teamed up for Jeepers Creepers 2.
There's a good reason for fans to hope that Jeepers Creepers 3 will manage to reach creative heights, especially with the structure behind the first two films. Although Creeper devotees are advised to remain cautious for now, it's still early to tell which end of the spectrum Jeepers Creepers 3 will fall on.
Jeepers Creepers 3 currently has no release date as of this writing.
