How to Uninstall Evil Android Porn App Adult Player: A Step by Step Guide

By

An evil android porn app has been blackmailing Android-Smartphone users who download it by taking photos of them.

Adult Player urged users to give $500, which can control over the device's front-facing camera and secretly take photos of the user. The device gets locked and displays a warning message from the ransomware which can only be unlocked until payment is received.

While ZScaler security researchers are doing its malware patrol routines on the web, they found the evil Android porn app, Adult Player. ZScaler didn't find Adult Player concealing itself in Google Play.

They discovered it in some third-party app hoard. or probably, it is either a suspicious store or as a loner.APK file on a similarly suspicious website. However, it is not a terribly advanced piece of malware. Victims can simply reboot their Android device into safe mode so that they can easily uninstall Adult Player.

The evil android porn app, Adult Player, is not available on the official Google Play store. Once it is installed, the Adult Player app asks for administrator access to the device that allows it to load malicious files. If a front camera is detected, the ransomware would secretly takes a picture of the user before gathering and forwarding data about the device to the main servers of the app.

It's important to point out that Adult Player is not a Google-certified Android application that porn viewers can just stumble upon; it's something they have to go out and seek, Fusion reported.

After all, there are Chrome, Opera, Firefox, and other popular browsers the viewers can use for their mobile pornography needs.

If the ransomware is on the device, it is recommended to remove the Adult Player via Safe Mode, base on BGR. (How to remove Adult Player? Instructions on how to remove it are also provided by ZScaler.)

1. Boot device into safe mode (Please note that entering "safe mode" varies depending on the device). Safe mode boots the device with default settings without running third party apps.

2. Uninstalling ransomware from device requires to first remove administrator privilege. To do the same, go to Settings -> Security -> Device Administrator and select ransomware app, then deactivate.

3. Once this is done, go to Settings -> Apps -> Uninstall ransomware app.

When Android users are to install an app that is not from trusted sites, they must consider in not allowing administrative roles for it.
