Kylie Jenner launched her first mobile app last Monday, September 14, alongside her new website. The teen star had been preparing for the special day for months, and now that it's out, fans can finally download the lifestyle app for free. However, there is a monthly subscription fee that fans aren't at all happy about.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the new app costs $2.99 for a month's subscription. The fee will enable the subscribers to receive exclusive inside information on what goes on in the life of Kylie Jenner. Though the app does include a mix of free and subscription content, fans aren't at all happy having to pay to get the latest on the "Keeping Up With Kardashian" star.
Apparently, fans believe that they can get all the information Kylie states you receive from the app, from her social media accounts. However, despite the criticism the young celebrity has received, Kylie was able to open up on her opinion of the situation stating it's 'not that big a deal,' considering what fans will actually get out of the app.
In a report from Celebrity Yahoo, Kylie reacted to the annoyed fans' complaints in an exclusive interview with ET. "I put so much time into it. I literally have spent days and weeks of my time doing this," Kylie explained. "And its stuff that I would never choose to share in a million years, but deep down I want my true fans to know, like all my personal stuff and tricks - stuff that I would never share on Instagram. So if they want to know real personal stuff that, like, makes me a little uncomfortable to share, then I don't think it's that big of a deal."
'Momager' Kris Jenner was also in on the case ready to defend her daughter. After hearing the criticism that her youngest child had received, Kris shared her thoughts on the issue saying, "For less than a cup of coffee, fans can get exclusive, original content that they won't get anywhere else about fashion, beauty, health, and parenting."
The young star's mom and manager then went on saying how Kylie has hired professional teams of editors and videographers to help her with the shooting and running of her app and website. She later on added that the contents from the app are exclusive and won't be seen on television or social networking sites.
According to the Inquisitr, despite the complaints and frustration of the fans, Kylie Jenner's new app has reached the number one spot in the iTunes Store and in Apple's AppStore, beating big sister Kim Kardashian's own personalized app.
Though fans aren't happy with paying a monthly fee for the app, with the teen stars app reaching the number one spot in just 2 days, it looks like there are plenty of fans that are willing to pay the small amount to keep up to date with Kylie Jenner.
