Android 6.0 Marshmallow: Will It Be Available For LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and Note 5?

By

Android is continuously upgrading its operating system and many of Android smartphone users are excited with the release of its newest version, the Android 6.0 or Marshmallow. Many are asking, will it be available for LG G3 and for Samsung's smartphones such as Galaxy S5, S6 and Note 5?

According to Yibada, LG is planning to miss the Android 5.1.1 update in its G3 and instead prepare for the upcoming version, the Android M or Marshmallow. It was further reported that carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular are taking steps to ensure the LG G3 smartphone will receive the latest update when it is finally released in October.

Meanwhile, Samsung is also expected to re-arm its Galaxy S Series and Note Series with the Android 6.0. Android Geeks reported that Samsung is expected to provide this update for Samsung Galaxy S6, S5 and Note 5 once it becomes available for download. Nonetheless, there are idle talks that the Marshmallow update is not as major as Lollipop and that Samsung is most likely to release the firmware sometime in late November.

As the release of this new operating system is fast approaching, it is really not a surprise that some of the carriers are planning to skip the Android 5.1.1 version. Latinos Post further discussed that there can be actual delays on the upgrading process.

The implementation of Lollipop 5.0 had been pretty slow, and this could be due to some problems it encountered. It is evident that the release of the 5.1 will resolve those issues but then some Android devices still have not upgraded to 5.1, which could be an indication that some brands prefer to update their devices to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LG's G3 as well as Samsung's Galaxy S5, S6 and Note 5 will most likely get the Marshmallow rather than the Lollipop update as soon as it is released this coming October.
