'The Transporter Refueled' is meant to be a pit stop; why nobody wants to ride with it

It seems that recently, most movies being released into theaters are remakes of films that people have already seen. "The Transporter: Refueled" is an epitome of pointlessness, unsuccessful reboot that is barely entertaining - and it only brought a stain to the once-loved series.

According to The Western Sun, the film has taken the basic concept of its predecessors and rebooted it with a new director in the person of Camille Delamarre, as well as an entirely new set of actors.

The story follows Frank Martin (Ed Skrein), a man who basically works as a "transporter," one who delivers uncertain packages for anonymous people in a discreet way.

Best Movies Ever News even reported that the film served well as a feature-length commercial for the Audi 8, instead of an actual movie; that it has reached new heights by stooping even lower than its original.

"The Transporter: Refueled", in one way or another, managed to take all the worst aspects of its predecessor and dump it even further into the junk heap, the publication added.

Although the story's content was most likely the same from the original Transporter installments - beautiful women, car chases and fight scenes - but the change in actors critically harmed the success of it.

The much-loved Jason Statham starred in the original series and played the protagonist in all three Transporter films (released 2002, 2005, and 2008, respectively). The reboot took Statham's character, replacing him with a newer but lesser-known actor, Ed Skrein. And although this kind of adjustment is never easy for audiences, let alone the fact that the previous films were so relatively recent, the comparison of the two actors is as easy as counting one to three.

Houston Express explained that director Delamarre and co-writers Adam Cooper, Bill Collage and Luc Besson overdevelop all the wrong aspects of the narrative - it is overstuffed, undercooked and needlessly complicated.

"The Transporter Refueled" gives viewers something not to be excited about - a simple, mindless action movie, that is. This is without a doubt another unremarkable remake in the history of remakes.
