It's finally here - Apple's iOS 9 is now available for download and many Apple users are wondering what could be most helpful in installing this latest update.
BGR released an article that gave us some tips on how to easily update your iOS device. The first thing you need to figure out - is your device compatible with iOS 9? If your device runs iOS 8, then you should be able to upgrade it to iOS 9. That includes iPhone 4S and newer models, iPad 2 and later, as well as fifth- or sixth-generation iPod touch devices are all upgradable to the iOS 9.
Another tip is to know how to download the newest iOS version. There are two ways to do it: you can download the iOS 9 update directly on your Apple device via OTA (over-the-air); or you can connect your device to a computer and using iTunes, download the update and install it
You also need to check your storage since iOS 9 requires 1.3GB of free storage on the device. Make sure there's plenty of space in the device before downloading the files needed for the installation, especially if you do it over-the-air.
One very important tip: whatever you do, always back up your data. Make sure that all of your data especially the important ones are constantly backed up.
Lastly, you need to make sure that you have enough battery life on your phone when updating as well as excellent, if not good, Internet connection. Both download and installation will take a while, so you really have to make sure that Internet connection is strong and that you have enough battery to avoid a software crash.
TechmoDay gave an elaborate how-to in an article they released recently. To download the iOS 9 using over-the-air option, go to Settings, General and then Software Update. If iOS 9 is ready to download, just click the download option and install it.
To update the device using a PC or Mac, you'll need to connect your iOS device using the Lightning or 30-pin cable, then in iTunes select the iPhone or iOS device, make sure you're in the Summary tab, and then click Check for Update.
These simple tips will definitely make updating your Apple device to the latest iOS 9 with comfort and ease.
