Microsoft's OneNote to Support iOS 9, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Handoff, and Spotlight

Microsoft's digital note-taking application, OneNote, was upgraded to ensure better support to Apple's iOS 9 and devices such as the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil as well as applications like Handoff and Spotlight.

Webopedia stated that OneNote was created to work as an electronic version of a paper notebook. The OneNote is a note-taking and personal information management application that helps you collect, organize and share digital information. With the storing of text notes, photos, audio and video snippets, handwriting and similar content, OneNote gathers and systematizes the information and makes it available for searching as well as for sharing with others.

Technocular reported that because of the upgrade done by Microsoft with OneNote, this application can now support the features of Apple devices better.

Multitasking is one of the changes in OneNote, which means that using the iPad Air 2 or the upcoming iPad Pro, you could do split-screen and run two applications at the same time.

Another notable change is the "Slide-over" which helps the user to take notes easily. This feature can be seen in newer iPads and lets you open OneNote over the other opened apps.

Spotlight now supports translate and can open search and find all tasks and notes. The improved OneNote currently works with searching through images, PDFs, and even handwriting.

Apple has also developed the Apple Pencil and as this new technology arrives in November, it can be used in OneNote.

Lastly, the Handoff support helps the user continue working right where he left off on his iPhone or from any Mac device.

Aside from these new features of the OneNote, Microsoft was also able to fix a few bugs. According to Venture Beat, OneNote used to have its camera viewfinder positioned incorrectly, off-screen. But after the upgrade, it is now positioned correctly.

Another thing is that users have reported having to sign in over and over when trying to create new notebooks on OneDrive and this bug has been with the new update. Aside from that, users have also reported that a prompt will pop up many times upon activating the old version of OneNote. With the new version, this has been fixed as well.

Lastly, there had been an issue with font spacing that many typography nerds found impossible to ignore. But now, everything should be back to normal now as this fix was included in the update.

These are the new features and updates brought by the latest OneNote and this will definitely support the iOS 9, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Handoff and Spotlight.
