Progress can now be seen with the construction of the Apple Campus 2 as an aerial video shot by a drone clearly shows.
Drone videos are often low in quality because of weight restrictions with regards to the camera used, however, this new video from aerial photography Above Reno is different. They have captured the ongoing construction of the Apple Campus 2 in gorgeous 4K resolution over the Labor Day weekend earlier this September.
The drone also flew with clearance from the local FAA office. This means that Above Reno went ahead and fished for a clearance first before flying the drone to avoid legal complications. The video was filmed below 400 feet above ground level, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
As seen in the video, the Apple Campus 2 is still under construction. However, it can also be seen that the construction has certainly made a significant progress. The outline of the circular building can be clearly seen, with several modular blocks of it already complete.
Besides the already huge campus, Apple is also planning to construct a 1,00 seat auditorium, according to Ubergizmo. The Apple Campus 2 will have about 300,000 square feet of space for the company's Research & Development facilities.
Apple is really taking innovation to the next level with the Apple Campus 2. The more powerful their R&D sector is, the better their products would be. They already demonstrated their battery shrinking prowess with the iPad Mini 4, which has the same battery life as the larger iPad Mini 3.
The Apple Campus 2 is slated to be finished by the end of 2016, according to Cult of Mac. The Cupertino company start to populate the campus with their employees by early 2017. In total, it will have a footprint of 2.8 million square feet.
Despite the large-scale construction project, Apple promised that they will make the Campus 2 environmentally friendly by using recycled water and clean solar energy generated from solar panels.
