"The Good Wife" will introduce a new storyline for Julianna Marguilles’ Alicia Florrick in its upcoming seventh season. The legal drama ended last season with Alicia finally leaving Florrick-Agos-Lockhart, as she decided to begin her own private firm. But things turned rather sour when she is left with little to less money to financially support her latest business venture.
In a series description released by The Futon Critic, viewers will find Mrs. Florrick take actions to revive her disintegrating law career. In the premiere, the first step she takes is by representing clients in bond court who are seeking to be released. However, things go awry when she encounters Lucca Quinn (played by Cush Jumbo) who gives her a headache when he began competing for her clients.
Co-creator/showrunner Robert King has teased this forthcoming arc for the strategic lawyer in a fall preview report from TV Line. “Professionally, Alicia will find herself the underdog again as she attempts to launch a new practice with zero capital. She negotiated a very bad deal when she left the firm. And now she's making $135-a-case as a bar attorney in bond court,” the executive producer said.
But while Alicia gets a little lost in her career, a new potential romance will find her. New series regular, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy) will arrive in her territory as a freelance private investigator. Morgan will be introduced on the hit CBS drama as Jason Crouse, Alicia’s new right hand who has been reported by TV Guide to develop a chemistry with the aforementioned character.
The Good Wife’s new season will uncork a setback on Alicia Florrick’s professional life while also opening a new exciting room for romance. The series premiere titled “Bond” will hit our small screens on Sunday, Oct. 4th at 9PM on CBS. Co-creators Robert and Michelle King penned the episode.
