After battling with breast cancer for over six years, famous author Jackie Collins passed away last Saturday. After the news of her death was confirmed, various Hollywood stars and celebrities took to social media to show their love and support for the author and the family that was left behind.

According to People, Jackie Collins, 77, died last Saturday, September 19, due to breast cancer. The famous bestselling author had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer over six year ago; however, the much loved and popular woman decided to keep her illness a secret, telling only a few close friends and family members.

After the sad news of Jackie's death was announced by the Collins family, various celebrities took to twitter and Instagram to mourn for the death of their very influential and kind hearted friend. Celebrities such as Melissa Gilbert, and Ian McShane who both worked on films adapted from the authors novels took to twitter to pay their respect for their once producer.

Close friends Kathy Griffin, Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and Kris Jenner also posted their deepest condolences alongside pictures of them with Collins on various social media sites.

In another report from US Magazine, Mel B, Hoda Kotb, Larry King, Oprah Winfrey, and Patti Stanger were just a few of the other celebrities that paid respect by posting messages on their personal accounts. Various other celebrities who had the privilege to know Jackie also took the time to send their love, and sympathy to the three daughters, six grandchildren, and brother and sister she left behind.

Gossip Cop reported that Jackie Collins has written 32 bestsellers and sold more than a half-billion books in her career. The novelist was a much loved human being, who was known for her kind heart, and sweet personality.

Though no confirmation of burial plans for the late author have been announced yet, being the lovely lady and celebrity she was, many Hollywood celebrities and fans are expected to attend and be seen in her funeral. For now, the family of Jackie are mourning the loss of the great woman that shed a whole lot of light in theirs, and her readers' lives.
