Drake and Future have released their mix tape on September 20 via iTunes and Apple Music. Their album is entitled, "What a Time to Be Alive" and contains 11 track sounds. This is a big deal for Apple because of the singers' influence in the music industry that can potentially increase the company's sale.
Venture Beat noted that the album began streaming in Beats 1 Radio at 6 p.m. EST few days ago. The report said that after two hours, the album was released in iTunes. Moreover, Drake broke his own record in 2013 at an amount of 15.8 million for one week with "Nothing Was the Same." This is no doubt that Drake may hit the spot again, especially that his album will be included in iTunes and Apple Music.
To be specific, Spin mentioned that Drake worked with Future in six days while in Atlanta for the mixtape. Drake said in Time, "It's tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it." The album has 11 track lists such as Digital Dash, Big Rings, Live from the Gutter, Diamonds Dancing, Scholarships, Plastic Bag, I'm the Plug, Change Locations, Jumpman, Jersey, and 30 for 30 Freestyle. In addition, Drake posted the album's cover art on Instagram (@champagnepapi) on September 20.
On the other hand, Time mentioned that no one knows the terms between Apple and Drake. The report added that this is the second time Drake has released new music in partnership with Apple. The artist has also been sharing his music with Apple-sponsored radio show.
Apple's strategy may most likely attract music lovers to switch in its own service. As such, it would be an advantage to gain more customers for the company. If this is the case, controversies are not far to occur among rival streaming service like Tidal.
