Samsung's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, will receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 version, the update which will fix existing bugs and is equipped with new features.
The IBTimes reported that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for S6 and S6 Edge is now available with carriers like Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and U.S Cellular.
Meanwhile, Neurogadget stated that the newest update from Android is armed with new features, one of which is Samsung Pay. Another improvement is that users will now have support for live broadcasting via YouTube along with high quality audio. Moreover, if there were any major errors before this update, you can be sure that they will be fixed and addressed once the update has been installed.
TechTimes named other impressive features that this update will bring. If the user has advanced calling enabled on their smartphone, they should be able to use the Caller Name ID, in which Galaxy S6 users can screen calls and identify unknown callers. This upgrade also allows Galaxy S6 owners to choose what others can see when they call using Picture ME.
Once users have updated their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, they have the option to turn off parallax, the wallpaper motion effect. The software update will also provide live wallpaper options for their smartphones' lock screen wallpaper.
And lastly, Android 5.1.1 version will allow the camera exposure values to be adjusted within the camera viewfinder. The exposure can be changed by pressing and moving the slider up or down.
On the other hand, one of the problems that has been addressed by the update is that instance where the mobile data icon disappears from the Quick Panel. This was also fixed with the Android 5.1.1 update. This also brought improvements to predictive text and auto-correction in its native keypad.
This update also brought support for Chinese Mandarin phonetic symbols and Cangjie as input languages have also been added.
And finally, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge also includes a patch for Stagefright, an exploitable bug attackers can use to hijack Android phones simply by sending an MMS.
Some of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones have already received the Android 5.1.1 update and soon other carriers will be releasing this version for the Samsung's flagship devices.
