The unveiling of the latest OnePlus flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3, is fast approaching and photos of the device have been leaked online.
BGR reported that another OnePlus smartphone is set to be unleashed at some point this year. Leaked pictures have shown that the OnePlus' rising flagship will appear to be more compact than its previous leading model, the OnePlus 2. OnePlus 3 has a different appearance than that of OnePlus 2 as it features a softer design with rounded edges and a plastic case that doesn't seem to be removable.
Another leaked photo shows that this device is likely to have a dual-camera configuration along with a dual-LED flash setup. Another notable feature is that it seems to have a round fingerprint scanner at the back which appears to have been repositioned since the device doesn't have a home button on the front.
As Christian Today said in a report published last month, the OnePlus 3 will have to beat the features and specifications of their previous flagship handset. The OnePlus 2 is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 with 4GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch full HD display and the company's own Lollipop-inspired platform, Oxygen OS.
A Vine Report article also released last month said that Carl Pei, one of the founders of OnePlus stated that he had seen the prototype for the new phone. He assured OnePlus' new fans that their third offering will be amazing but the device will be named differently from "OnePlus 3". He declined to provide further details about their newest device.
Pei also predicted the future of his brand and said that there will only be three legitimate players in the handset arena in five years. OnePlus will be the runner-up to Apple and Samsung and will be in third place, according to Latinos Post.
As photos of the latest OnePlus phone are leaked online, many are expecting this device to be unveiled late this year.
