Team Radium has rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop recently to OnePlus One devices 2014 series. The update is downloadable through CyanogenMod which is based on Android 5.1.1. There are published steps on how to successfully download the new firmware. The new update intends to increase life battery, improve phone performance, and fix bugs.
Team Radium is a Custom ROM developer community, which is in charge of developing new software updates especially to OnePlus One devices. IB Times reported that the CyanogenMod which is based on Android 5.1.1 is now available to OnePlus One users as it has been rolled out recently. Radium Custom ROM is believed to offer value-added features, stability, tweaks for enhanced phone performance, and extended battery life, according to the report.
Related report also discussed some of the things that should be considered when downloading the new OS update. This is to be able to successfully complete the process and be able to avoid any untoward issues while updating. The report said that OnePlus One phone should have at least 295MB free memory size, 80% battery, and stable internet connection.
Before the installation, IB Times noted that the new Custom ROM should only be installed to OnePlus One devices or also called as Bacon models. To check on this, users can go to Settings, About phone, then Model Number. The device should also be rooted or be at Bootloader unlocked mode before proceeding with the update. If the update will be performed through a computer, users must ensure that the USB driver is fully recognized on both devices. In the event that users will have a difficult time in updating, the report listed the step-by-step procedure for installing Radium Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom ROM.
The software update is believed to bring enhanced features over OnePlus One devices. It is also thought to fix loopholes brought about by Stagefright bug virus.
