Gmail Adds Unsubscribe And Block Options For Android

By

The biggest search engine company has made new improvements to Gmail, and this was the unsubscribe and block options for Android phone and tablet users.

Gmail application for Android will be much wiser as it will adopt the unsubscribe and block options that were first introduced through Gmail for Web. According to TechnoBuffalo, this update made by Google will allow users to block bothersome email senders with just a few taps. In a similar scenario, users can also quickly unsubscribe from mailing lists as well.

Android Police further explained that when a user blocks an email sender, his future messages will go directly to the spam folder, as if the user had created a filter. Just like the filters, users also have the choice to undo the action and unblock the sender through the option in Settings.

On the other hand, Phone Arena cited that if users were able to receive a newsletter or email that was subscribed to them without their knowledge, it will be much easier for them now to wipe out those unwanted emails and newletters. They don't have to go through the process of surveys in which they will be asked, "Can you tell us why you're unsubscribing?"

The unsubscribe option has been introduced on the Web but not on the Android app. Now, Android smartphone users will simply just tap the option in the Gmail menu to remove any unwelcome emails or block subscription senders.

This update will make the user's inbox become more organized and users themselves will not be disturbed by newsletters or emails from unwanted senders.

The unsubscribe and block update for Gmail for Web has now been made available for Gmail mobile app and as expected by many, this will roll out over next week for Android users.
