Application developers are bringing an innovation to Facebook as the app started offering 360-degree videos in News Feed. Such enhancement in the well-known application is primarily to keep people closer, even if they are miles apart from each other. This is by capturing every single moment at different angles using the app. Facebook started rolling this out on September 23.

The new Facebook's feature is available to Android and Web versions, while iOS devices will experience it few months from now, Tech Crunch said. The company worked with Oculus to develop 360 video for News Feed. Aside from getting people closer with each other from afar, the new feature can also be used for advertising. As such, the report added that Star Wars, Discovery, GoPro, Uninterrupted With LeBron James, NBC's Saturday Night Live, and VICE are starting to share 360 videos in News Feed.

CNET noted that Star Wars started publishing its video entitled, "The Force Awakens." From the video, it shows a view from the seat of a vehicle moving across the dessert. Users can also do the same by launching 360-degree video in their News Feed and moving finger left or right through a phone and cursor through a Web to choose angles.

Related report also mentioned that the well-known social media firm has partnered with celebrities and larger brands to upload its videos through 360 degrees in News Feed. In this regard, Mountain Dew sponsored a video that shows a chance to ride on Bristol Motor Speedway in a car driven by Dale Earnhardt, Jr and a video from Discovery shows a chance to experience diving with sharks.

360-degree videos can provide benefits of making people from afar closer and advertising products. iOs devices will have to wait for such feature in this coming months.
